Find a Book in the UK Library System
InfoKat is the online catalog for the entire University of Kentucky Library system. The best way to search it is to click on "Basic Search" and make sure the right-hand box is set on Keyword. To find a book on the Salk Institute by architect Louis Kahn, you would enter the search as follows:
Kahn +Louis +salk
Note the format requires a space after the word, then a +, then the next word. There is no space between the + and the next word. The catalog entry tells you the number of copies, the call number, the location of the item and the status (checked out, lost, on reserve, etc.) Make sure you copy down the complete call number.
WorldCat Local
WorldCat Local shows the holdings in the University of Kentucky Libraries as well as in libraries throughout the U.S. and selected libraries in Canada and Europe. Items owned by UK Libraries are indicated with a link to the InfoKat catalog.
Books we do not own may be borrowed through Interlibrary Loan. Requests can be made through WorldCat using the ILLiad icon link.
You can also request that UK Libraries purchase a book we do not already own.
