Finding a Known Article

If you are looking for a particular article, there are two places to look.

To see if UK has access to the article electronically, check the E-Journals A-Z list--you must search this list by the JOURNAL title, NOT the article title.

To find out if UK owns a paper copy of the article, check InfoKat Discovery. In InfoKat Discovery, you can search for the journal  OR the article title.

If the article is not available either electronically or in paper, you can order it using our Interlibrary Loan Service.

How to Get Full-Text

When searching for journal articles, you will notice the View Now button on many of your search results. Clicking on the View Now button will lead you to links for the full-text of the article or let you know that we do not have electronic full-text for that article.

If the full-text is not available, you can search InfoKat Discovery for a hardcopy of the article or request an interlibrary loan (ILL), if needed.

WorldCat.Org

Need to search beyond the University of Kentucky Libraries?  Search WorldCat.org to access catalog listings of holdings from libraries in the United States and around the world. UK-affiliates can make Interlibrary Loan requests through this database when on-campus or connected via VPN.

Cited Reference Searching

The Cited Reference search in Web of Science Core Collection or Academic Search Complete searches the footnotes of journal articles.  This is very helpful when you need to track down the references to a particular author or article.
