Origen de los Indios de el Nuevo Mundo . . .
The author, Gregorio Garcia, was a Spanish Dominican who served the Order in Mexico and Peru. His work on the origins of the American Native Americans, of which this copy is a second edition in 1729, was widely read in the 17th and 18th centuries. Garcia believed that the Native Americans were descendants of ancient Hebrew immigrants, a belief still held by the Mormons.
