Finding Recorded Music

The best way to find performances of music owned by University of Kentucky Libraries is to search the Libraries' InfoKat Discovery, using the advanced search function.

Example for recordings of works by the Armenian composer Aram Il'yich Khachaturian:

Type Khachaturian in the search box

Choose as Author/Creator from the drop-down box to the left (box will say Any)

Choose Audio Visual from the drop-down menu in the Material Type (to the right)

Finding Music Scores

The Lucille Caudill Little Fine Arts Library has a rich collection of music scores that are available for check out.  These scores are cataloged and accessible through UK Libraries' catalog, InfoKat Discovery. Using the advanced search function, type in the name of the composer and then select "scores" from the drop down box by Material Type.

Finding Books about Music

You can find books about music in a certain country by using the advanced search and by:

typing the country and the word music in the search box

choose "Any" from the drop down menu

choose "Any" from the second drop down box

Example:  Armenia in one search box and Music in another search box

The search will yield over 40 books in UK Libraries on Armenian Music. 

If you want Armenian Folk Music, substitute "folk music" for "music" in the search above.
