COM 449: Social Processes and Effects of Mass Communication: Literature Review

What Is a Literature Review?

A literature review is a survey of scholarly writings on a specific area of study.  Its purpose is to identify significant literature on the subject, summarize it and critically evaluate what is already known about the subject. In order for you to be able to identify, read, and explain the significance and relationship of the literature, you must focus on a narrow topic for your review.
