Basic Information
EndNote Overview
EndNote is a powerful software application used to manage personal databases of citations from sources such as journals, books, or websites. EndNote can input records from online bibliographic databases; organize references, images and PDFs; and be used to create bibliographies and figure lists. It is a valuable tool for anyone maintaining large research databases or publishing frequently.
Obtaining EndNote
The University of Kentucky (UK) has a site license that allows current UK faculty, staff, and students to download the software for educational and research use. Eligible UK people can obtain the software via the UK Download site. Link blue authentication is required to access the software. Users can specify Mac or Windows format. The software can be downloaded to the desktop and then installed. After logging in to the Download site, type the word EndNote in the gray "Can't find what you're looking for" box. Then select the needed platform (Windows or Mac).
Installing EndNote
UK Libraries has created supplemental instructions for download and installation of EndNote for both the Windows and Mac platforms. Instructions give installation tips, including an important option for downloading complete sets of filters, styles, and connection files.
