Facets of Appalachian Lives: Home

This guide features books about Appalachian Studies that were published by the University Press of Kentucky. The books are on display at the William T. Young Library from mid-Oct. through the end of Dec. 2017.

Keys to Our Common Future

The 2017-18 theme of the College of Arts and Sciences Passport to the World Program is "Year of Civics and Citizenship in the 21st Century: Keys to Our Common Future."  There will be a variety of events to "unite our campus in dialogue about our roles as citizens of the Commonwealth. One of our central goals is to highlight research done by our own faculty in Arts and Sciences and to foster both intra- and inter-college collaborative events across campus."

In celebration of Keys to Our Common Future, the University of Kentucky Libraries has set up a display (Facets of Appalachian Lives) that showcases books about Appalachian Studies in the lobby of the William T. Young Library from October 16 through the end of December 2017.  Published by the University Press of Kentucky, the books reveal the different facets and unique features of Appalachian lives.  Current UK faculty, students, and staff can download them for free from UKnowledge, UK's institutional repository.
