UNESCO World Music

UNESCO's page on Culture includes videos and audio recordings of world music. Click the following link to go directly to world music videos.

National Geographic's website has some great world photography and you can find information on world cultures, videos of world music, and more.

Naxos Video Library

Naxos Video Library is a streaming video library of classical music performances, opera, ballet, live concerts and documentaries.  Search videos by category, role, composer, artist, production personnel, work, venue or festival. Includes subtitles available in over 5 languages.

For films about Asian musics, click on "Genres and Programmes" then chose "Monuments/History/Genre," "Musical Journeys," or "World."

Films on Demand

Films on Demand  offers full-length films covering a wide-range of subjects. World music categories include Eastern European music, Middle Eastern & African music, and Indian & East Asian music. Films on Demand includes films from producers such as PBS, BBC, History Education, NOVA, and more.

Other Resources from the UK Libraries

Alexander Street's Theatre in Video has a small collection of films on Kabuki, Noh, and Peking Opera. 

Naxos Video Library includes a handful of films on Asian music.
