Ann Rice O'Hanlon & The Memorial Hall Mural: Margaret I. King Library murals

Frank Weathers Long

Two other New Deal art program-funded murals exist at the University of Kentucky:  "Work" and "Leisure" painted by Frank W. Long (1906-1999) in 1936.  They are attached to the east and west walls of the original browsing room of the Margaret I. King Library (currently staff offices).  The initial funding came from the Public Works of Art Project, but funding continued through the Treasury Department's Section of Fine Arts.
