UK Libraries Dean's Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Scholarship: Evaluation Criteria

This research guide provides information about the UK Libraries Dean's Award, including timeline, eligibility, evaluation, and other requirements.

General Criteria

Submissions will be judged based on how well they demonstrate:

  •  Originality and/or exceptional depth in the use of library resources and collections in any format
  •  Effective application of information literacy skills
  •  Determining research information needs
  •  Identifying appropriate sources of information
  •  Evaluating and analyzing information
  •  Applying information and research skills in the context of the research paper
  •  Fully acknowledging information used by providing accurate citations
  •  Demonstrated understanding of the research process
