Required Skills  

  • Desire to learn, improve, and master research skills
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Interest in customer service, education, mentoring and/or tutoring
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of students, faculty, staff, and community members


  • UK sophomore, junior, or senior status with a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.  All majors are eligible.
  • Commitment to full-academic year participation in the Undergraduate Peer Tutor Internship
  • Eligibility for employment at UK (I-9 documentation and pre-employment background checks are required for new employees)

Salary, Hours, and Schedule  

$8.80 per hour; 10-15 hours per week on average; schedule is flexible, to be determined between supervisor and interns. Work hours may be during weekdays, evening and/or weekend with at least one 5-9 pm shift per week. The Undergraduate Peer Tutor Internship will begin in August 2019 and end in May 2020, coinciding with the 2019-2020 academic calendar.
