How Do I Find Rare Books and Print Collections?
Use UK Libraries' online catalog, Infokat Discovery, to find rare books and print collections from the Special Collections Research Center. Rare books and print collections contain printed material from numerous geographic locations in a variety of formats, including: monographs (books); newspapers; serials (periodicals); pamphlets; and broadsides. Look for the "Submit Request to Special Collections Research Center" link beneath items any items from SCRC to schedule in-person use in the Breckinridge Research Room or to order digital scans.

- L'agriculture Réduite a Ses Vrais Principes, 1774This French translation of the foundational Latin work Agriculturae fundamenta chemica, originally written by Johan Gottschalk Wallerius, the founder of agricultural chemistry, was completed by the influential French Enlightenment atheist Baron d'Holbach and includes extensive notes taken from the German edition.
- Kentucky Almanac, 1794-1856These are a series of early almanacs printed in Lexington by Kentucky's first printer and others. Due to the need for local weather information, almanacs were often one of the first texts produced in a new location and also provide important historical context.
- University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service Print CollectionAs a land grant university, UK has been a longtime publisher of educational materials for farmers and the Commonwealth. This collection showcases some of the variety and depth of the cooperative extension office's efforts over time.
