Access from Off Campus Options for accessing library materials while at home or off campus

Current UK students, faculty, voluntary faculty, and staff can use their linkblue login to access UK Libraries’ electronic resources from off campus.

Systematic downloads, distribution, or long-term storage of substantial portions of information is prohibited. By using these products you are agreeing to the terms and conditions for the use of electronic resources.

Accessing OpenAthens from Public Computers

For UK users wishing to access OpenAthens from public computers: 

• Navigate to the OpenAthens Login page or use the "OpenAthens Login" shortcut on the desktop of public computers
• Click on "Find your institution"
• Type "University of Kentucky" in the search box and click the UK Libraries link
• Enter your linkblue ID and password
• After successfully signing in, follow the link for the UK Libraries homepage on the MyAthens page
• Find electronic resources using our A-Z databases list or E-Journals index

Users not directly affiliated with the university through enrollment or employment may only access UK Libraries' licensed electronic resources from within a campus library facility.

To access electronic resources from on-campus computers:

• Navigate to the OpenAthens Login page or use the "OpenAthens Login" shortcut on the desktop of public machines
• Sign in using the following credentials:
  • Username: ukyguest
  • Password: Gue$t @ccount UKL (with a single space between each word)
• After successfully signing in, follow the link for the UK Libraries homepage on the MyAthens page
• Find electronic resources using our A-Z databases list or E-Journals index
