The Stacks Workstations

This guide contains guides, documentation, and tutorials for software that UK Libraries patrons can access on the computers in The Stacks

Location

All workstations are located in The Stacks, Room 213B, on the Ground Floor (Fl. 2) of King Library Annex. After you enter The Stacks, continue straight until you reach the large screen at the back of the space. The workstations will be through the doors to your left.

Reserving a Computer

Click here to make a reservation for a workstation. Reservations are available weekdays between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM Monday through Thursday, and between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM on Friday.

Once a reservation has been approved, access to the workstations is self service (but you can contact us if you need additional help). Workstation reservations are for two hour increments, but you may submit multiple reservations as a separate reservation. If you need to run a process past open hours or overnight, please contact us first.

Logging Into and Using a Computer

All workstations can be logged into using your linkblue credentials. While most software on the computers can be used after login, some will require additional setup first. If you're having trouble accessing a particular program, click on its tab below to learn more about running it.

Remember to log out of the workstation when you are done using it and do not leave it logged into your account unattended. You are responsible for making sure that any work you have done is backed up and saved to a permanent location at the end of your session. We make no guarantees that your data or files will be perpetually accessible on The Stacks computers.
