This project focuses on the Brookside Mine Strike in Harlan County, Kentucky, during 1973-1974. United Mine Workers union members in Harlan County went on strike against Eastover Coal Company, which was owned by Duke Power Company.

This project documents the origins of the craft industry in Eastern Kentucky and that of the various organizations that have had, and continue to have, a significant impact on the industry and crafters. More particularly, interviewees discuss the diverse ways in which they have come to be involved with the Kentucky craft industry, the nature and challenges of their particular trades, and the personal, financial, and structural challenges that they have faced, and continue to face, as members of, or leaders in, respective Kentucky craft organizations.

This project contains interviews with a variety of Kentucky horse industry professionals from trainers, owners, and farm managers to jockeys and breeders. Subjects discussed include Kentucky politics and government, Kentucky Derby, racing organizations, national race tracks, Churchill Downs, horse racing, horse breeding, farm management, thoroughbred race horses, African Americans in the horse industry, women in the horse industry, equine medicine, and laws and legislation. Thoroughbred Industry audio-visual project interviews conducted by Blood-Horse Magazine are also included in this collection.

In this collection of interviews, entrepreneures describe their careers. Included in the interviews is Ralph Anderson, who founded Belcan Industries. Topics include IRS issues, various companies the interviewees founded and negotiations to buy and sell companies.

This project consists of interviews with Arab and Jewish small business owners in the Kentucky region.
