Citation and Style Manuals

The two citation and style manuals used in Anthropology are the American Anthropological Association (AAA) Style and the Chicago Manual of Style, which use a footnote system in formal research papers. Footnotes are placed at the bottom of each page or cumulated at the end of the research paper. A formal bibliography of all resources consulted should also be included. On the other hand, the APA style manual prefers citations in parentheses within the text and a list of the full citations of all resources at the end of the paper.  Please check with your professor or read the requirements of the assignment carefully to know which form is required.
