Window of Shanghai at University of Kentucky Libraries: January 1 - April 30, 2018

This exhibit celebrated Window of Shanghai, a cultural exchange program begun by the Shanghai Library in 2002 to introduce Chinese culture to overseas readers. This is achieved by donating some of the latest Chinese publications to overseas libraries participating in the three-year program.

The books given by the Shanghai Library cover many topics, including Chinese medicine, language study for all ages, literature, history, culture, arts, and more! For more information, please see the Shanghai Library's Profile on the Window of Shanghai   and FAQ on the Window of Shanghai .

The University of Kentucky Libraries' participation in the Window of Shanghai program began with a cultural exchange visit to the Shanghai Library in 2015. The program began soon after and we are we are now in the second year of the three-year program.

Our exhibit ran January through 2018. It was located in the atrium inside William T. Young Library's main entrance.
