A-H 528/628 guide to Art+Feminism Wikipedia Edit-a-thons: Women and Modern Art of Africa, fall 2020

Art+Feminism Wikipedia Edit-a-thons at the Lucille C. Little Fine Arts Library

Welcome, A-H 528/628!

WHAT: The Art+Feminism Wikipedia Edit-a-thon is an international communal updating of Wikipedia content on subjects related to art and feminism.

WHYThis international event is designed to improve coverage of women and the arts on Wikipedia and encourage female editorship. In a 2011 survey, the Wikimedia Foundation found that less than 10% of its contributors identify as female. The lack of female participation has led to an alarming dearth of content about women and art in the world’s most popular online research tool. Since 2014, hundreds of Art+Feminism edit-a-thons have taken place across the world, creating and improving thousands of articles.

HOWEditing with a room full of inspired others is addictive, fun, and uplifting! You can stay as long or as little as your schedule allows.

WHOPeople of all gender identities and expressions, particularly transgender and cisgender women, are invited to participate and improve coverage of women in the arts.
