Integrating Library Content into Canvas

A guide for instructors to help identify and integrate library resources and support tools into your Canvas courses.

Welcome

This guide will help you integrate library content into your Canvas course. This includes content already available such as full Canvas modules, subject or course-specific library research guides, plus articles, e-books, and other licensed content.

Librarians can also work with you to customize or create content to help students navigate library resources. Contact us to learn more.

Suggested Content

You can add a variety of links, widgets, and other content to guide students to library resources that are appropriate for your research assignments.

Two resources we highly recommend are:

  • Subject or course guides. Subject or course-specific guides direct students to resources most relevant to your class.
  • Help resources. Embed our chat widget or point to contact information for library help.

Feel free to reach out to us with any questions. Our Subject Librarians are here to help.

Self-Guided Canvas Courses

UK Libraries offers three self-guided, open enrollment Canvas courses:

  • Open Information Literacy: introduction to developing research questions and search terms as well as evaluating and using information
  • Open Academic Research: discover specific resources for graduate research, evaluate journals to consider for submission, and more
  • Generative AI & Information Literacy: ways to help determine when generative AI tools provide inaccurate or misleading responses
