Lending Policy

General Policy:

Government documents that circulate are considered like the general collection--semester checkout for faculty, four weeks for graduate students, two weeks for all others, including townspersons. Special collections, including document periodicals and reference material, do not circulate. Knox County residents who are 16-years-old or older, have a photo identification card, are not attending another institution of higher learning, and who give two references, are eligible for library cards entitling them to charge three items.

ILL Policy:

The Weeks-Townsend Memorial Library accepts OCLC, fax, ALA, and KLN requests. Monographs, including government documents, are loaned for 38 days with normal renewal of 24 days. A-V is only loaned to AIKCU libraries; curriculum, microforms, reference and special collections do not circulate. Photocopy charges, including those for periodicals and microforms, are reciprocal in state and Soline; all others--1st 20 exp. free; over 20 exp., $.10 exp. Do not lend theses. Generally provide 48-hr turnaround; will lend materials to libraries outside the U.S.
