Streaming Media at the University of Kentucky Libraries: Swank

Identifies possible source of streaming media

About Swank

Swank provides selective streaming of feature films, documentaries, and foreign films. Films are licensed on a title-by-title basis by University of Kentucky Libraries.

Mobile apps

The Swank Media Player is available in the Apple App store and Google Play store. Once it is downloaded, navigate to the library's Swank site. When you play a video, it will give you the option to open the mobile app for viewing.

For more information, see the Swank how-to.

Searching the catalog

Access Swank

Upon first accessing Swank Digital Campus, you'll be asked to indicate whether you are an instructor or a student. Instructors can view titles across the entire Swank catalog but can still only watch the films for which UK Libraries has purchased access. This allows instructors to recommend new titles to the library for purchase. Students will only see the titles for which UK Libraries has access.

UK's Swank homepage

Advanced search options allow you to search by title, cast members, directors, rating, subjects & themes, release dates, and foreign films. You can also limit titles to films that include English captions.
