Published works consist of poems, short stories, and note book material that Still published in various periodicals, journals, magazines, and on broadsides. Manuscripts include both typed and handwritten drafts and notes relating to Still's poems, essays, short stories, and novels. Included are drafts or portions of drafts of the monographs River of Earth, On Troublesome Creek, Run for the Elbertas, etc. Some of the manuscript material was never published, including the unfinished novel Bad Hair. There are also derivative works that were based on or drew inspiration from Still's original work and were adapted or changed into new formats, including pieces he modified himself. In addition to manuscripts and published materials, the collection also includes biographical materials, financial records, correspondence, interviews, book reviews, promotional materials, and memorabilia.
